My experience of phage therapy is with 3 patients presenting with prostatitis, urethritis and UTI.
Given here is the case presentation of the clinical summary of my first patient treated with phage therapy:
- 42 year old male, presented with typical symptoms of prostatitis and urethritis.
- Patient was treated with multiple antibiotics. His symptoms showed partial improvements, with relapse within few weeks of completing course. The side effects from the multiple antibiotics courses were intolerable.
- Patient was then suggested phage therapy. We followed the prescription from the urologist at the Eliava clinic. Phages were delivered rectally, orally and via urethral instillation. Patient was quickly into remission with many symptoms resolving over 3 months.

Chief, Transplant Pulmonology
KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad
We have used phages in our post Bilateral Lung Transplantation patient with chronic MDR Pseudomonas airway colonisation leading to recurrent airway narrowing and cough.
Phages were given orally and in nebulization form.
Use of phages decreased bacterial colony count in BAL, decreased the frequency of airway narrowing therefore improving FeV1, 6 minutes walk distance and functional capacity.
We haven’t see any complications during course of therapy.

Consultant, Urology
Fortis Escorts Hospital, Delhi
I was associated with Vitalis Phage Therapy and Dr Dangs Lab for two years for consulting and conducting testing for chronic prostatitis patients opting for phage therapy between 2023 and 2025.
Chronic prostatitis patients had already taken multiple course of antibiotics with only partial relief and significant side effects.
Over 100 patients of chronic prostatitis used oral, intravesical and rectal phages.
Follow up EPS volume and white blood cell count improved in >75% patients, and most of them had near complete resolution of their pelvic pain and significant reduction in LUTS, without any side effects of phage therapy.
